Excursion to the countryside West of Racconigi, between Maira and Varaita streams, and between the small rural centers, are the remains of ancient medieval castles.

The route then winds along streets and villages linked to the ancient trade, and in particular the transport of salt from southern France to Polonghera, where it was loaded on rafts and transported along the river Po, up to Turin.
